Open Banking was a fundamental shift in how people interact with their money. Working with Lloyds Banking Group, we set out to give users clear control over their data, seamless payment flows and give them the confidence to manage finances across multiple brands.

Our approach focused on simplifying complex financial journeys while maintaining regulatory compliance. We created unified and intuitive flows for money transfers, standing orders and third-party data sharing, supported by transparent permissioned access and interactive prototypes that demonstrated the experience before development. Every interaction was designed to be human-centred, empowering, and frictionless.

Leading the customer experience and product design team , I oversaw cross-brand consistency, stakeholder alignment and the end-to-end UX/UI workflow. Collaborating closely with product owners, developers and regulators, we iterated rapidly, validated with users and translated technical complexity into simple, understandable experiences.

The result was a scalable and cross-brand Open Banking solution that increased adoption, reduced friction and built trust with customers. The project demonstrated how regulated financial services can be intuitive, human and empowering - setting a new benchmark for digital payments while showcasing the impact of research-led, user-centred design at scale.
